Why Can't I Get Well? (Part 1)
I've been getting the same question from many of you in my in-box lately: "It seems that no matter what I do, I'm just not getting any better. What's going on?" This is the first of four articles devoted to answering that question. I'm Not Getting Better - Is There Anything I Can Do?A vast question. Nutrition can be one important factor. All the energy healing in the world won't help you if you are severely lacking in essential nutrients or if you are gunking up the works with harmful foods. But there are so many conflicting theories nowadays on what you should have and what you shouldn't have in your bodies that I'll have to let the nutritionists advise you on that! Then, too, there are times when someone actually is doing every single thing right, spiritually, mentally and physically, and she remains on a downhill slide. But that's another topic. So what am I going to talk about?What I'm going to talk about here are some problems that fly under the radar of standard medical care. The electromagnetic energies flowing through your body are its foundation. When they are flowing well, everything works. When they aren't - that's a problem. Working directly with your energies is a powerful way to give yourself the foundation you need for healing. Are your energies crossing?Neurologically, the right side of your brain controls the left side of your body and the left side of your brain controls the right side of your body. This crossing over from left to right/right to left is not only hard-wired into your nervous system. It reflects how your energy system is structured. If you are reasonably healthy, your energies cross from side to side. If your energies don't cross, the right and left halves of your energy system don't communicate. That means they can't work together. It becomes impossible for your energies to nourish your body. Your body stops functioning in a coherent way. What to do?If you are healthy, the stresses of the day may make your energies homolateral." That means that the right energies flow along the right side of your body and the left energies flow along the left side. And the two don't meet. But you can easily correct this through some "heterolateral" activity like a walk. When you walk - without even thinking about it - your right arm swings forward when your left foot steps forward, and vice versa. According to clairvoyant healer Donna Eden, this naturally re-establishes the side-to-side flow of the body's energies. This is why she includes a brief walking-in-place exercise as part of her daily energy routine. (See the Free Resources page at http://www.truly-profound-relief for this and other energy routines.) But it's different if you have a chronic illness such as an autoimmune disorder. Then, the energies become firmly entrenched in a homolateral pattern. Once this has happened, a simple, normal walk in place doesn't work anymore. It will just make you tired. I thought you were going to give me some help with this...There is indeed something you can do about your entrenched homolateral energy pattern. It's called the Homolateral Cross-Crawl. Keep in mind that although I talk about walking-in-place, you can also do this sitting down or lying down. It's important that you stop if you feel that this is too much for you and you feel stressed. This will only continue the homolateral pattern. If you find that walking-in-place is feeling stressful, "sit" in place. If "sitting" in place is too difficult, "lie" in place! OK, here's what to do:It should take you only 2 or 2-1/2 minutes each time you do it. Preliminaries: Breathing: Breathe in through your nose and breathe out through your mouth. The K-27 Thump.There is an acupressure point called K-27 which can wake up all your energy channels. It's a good idea to briefly stimulate your K-27 points before you start other energy work. Here's where they're located: Your two collar bones almost meet in the middle of the base of your throat, at the collar bone notch. To find K-27, put one finger of each hand in the collar bone notch, at the center line of your body. Move out from the center line about 2 inches on each side. You'll roll over the bony ends of the collar bone and feel an indentation. Thump those two points (at the same time) for about 30 seconds or so. Now that the preliminaries are out of the way: 1. Walk in place in a homolateral - that is, same-side - pattern. What does this mean? As you lift up your LEFT leg, tap your knee with your LEFT hand. As you lift up your RIGHT leg, tap your knee with your RIGHT hand. Do this 12 times. (When you tap your left leg and then tap your right leg, that counts as one time.) 2. Walk in place in a normal heterolateral pattern (that is, an opposite-side pattern. As you lift up your LEFT leg, tap your knee with your RIGHT hand. As you lift up your RIGHT leg, tap your knee with your LEFT hand. Twisting your torso a little toward the side you're tapping on enhances the effect. Do this 12 times. 3. Repeat the sequence once again. That is, do same-side walking-in-place 12 times and then opposite-side walking-in-place 12 times. 4. Repeat the sequence a third time. 5. Top it off with one more round of heterolateral walking-in-place 12 times. Only heterolateral this time.) That's it. This is enough to switch your energies to a healthy heterolateral pattern. One problem, though...It won't hold very long. You need to do this 2-minute routine two or three times a day for AT LEAST a month in order to get it to hold over time. I know it can be hard to start any new routine, even one that takes only a few minutes a day. But those few minutes can provide you with a foundation for healing. You mean there's yet one MORE thing I need to do everyday?The five or six minutes a day you spend getting your energies to cross can have an effect far greater than the effort you spend. But I know it can be hard to start a new routine. So try attaching it to a few routines you already have. Start walking-in-place as soon as you wake up in the morning; right after you brush your teeth; during the first part of the evening news; just before you go to bed at night. Take your pick! Would you be willing to commit to this for a week?Just for a week. And see if you feel a difference. And if you do - then go for it!
